This is mainly an excuse to test the crossposting option on DW, but instead of just posting WHEE I CAN CROSSPOST WITH EASE!, I figured actual content might be a good idea.
I have a confession: I'm addicted to paranormal/supernatural/utterly ridiculous chick lit. I'm not even pretending to read anything deep and meaningful anymore. I'm not saying I won't read it...if someone I trust has a rec for a good one, i'll check it out. But I don't go looking for them.
In the past 3 weeks or so, i've read NINE. Including the weredolphin book
calixa posted about...I found that for her, it's from a series by one of my favorite chick lit authors, Julie Kenner. In addition to the weredolphins and talks to animals superpowers and invisibility caused by sneezing, I just finished up a series (Enchanted, Inc. - Shanna Swendson) about a small town Texas girl (like I could resist that, seriously) who is special because she's immune to magic. It's got frog kissing, traitors, Merlin back from the dead/magical hibernation, and a super powerful wizard that blushes at the drop of a hat and doesn't know how to talk to girls. These books may just edge Confessions of a Demon Hunting Soccer Mom out of my #1 favorite spot. Hopefully the series isn't finished, there are way too many loose ends left.
Now I just have to decide what to read next. Do I go with the witch serving as a protector of the British Prime Minister, the librarian who sees dead people, or the sassy hairdresser-detectives (which includes amazing titles like "My Heart May Be Broken, but My Hair Still Looks Great" and "I Gave You My Heart, but You Sold It Online".) All of these feature small town Texas girls, btw. Apparently us Texans are perfect for ridiculous chick lit.
