ING ADANA! I still have some of our aim rewatches saved, and I was going to reread one and find something brilliant to quote from it, but one of my sister's dumb friends is here and hitting on me and he's obviously dumb but kind of hot? So I am letting myself be sort of distracted. Anyway.

I fell behind a bunch during S3, but usually caught up again within a week or two so it never got overwhelming, and I was also not usually having my reactions at the same time as my flist so I never got sucked into the way fandom gets hypercritical sometimes, you know? I was just along for the ride and quite enjoyed it. Although the first half of the season is definitely better on rewatch, when you actually know more about what went down during that year on New Caprica and things make more sense and/or fit together better.

And by the end -- shit, the last four episodes are FANTASTIC.

ALSO there is stuff in the UB Extended Version that is totally unrelated to pilots that you will love. And Baltar!

Plus Lee in A Suit is worth pretty much any hardship. Hot DAMN. Oh APOLLO. You know Democracy!Lee is my favorite too. GOD I CAN'T WAIT TO TALK ABOUT THIS STUFF WITH YOU.

Dude, this is the last season. This is the END. They're telling the story they set out to tell and no more. Do you really want to miss out on the fucking roller coaster ride of fandom opinion that this is going to be? THIS SHOW MAKES ME CRY AT LEAST EVERY OTHER WEEK. YOU KNOW THAT IS NOT EASY.

Oh! Hey, I remember why I started talking about how I got behind during S3 too. And about how it doesn't matter, because when I'm not actively watching BSG, I totally forget how much I love it. And it takes such long and frequent breaks! I didn't even burn season3 to DVDs before I cleaned them off my harddrive becuase I knew I probably wouldn't rewatch until the official DVD release anyway, I finally got excited about a rewatch in March because I was finally gonna get to see UB for the first time in a year! But at the time I started my rewatch, I had been vaguely wondering for a while why I had ever named my computer Pythia and made all folder names and stuff names BSG-related.

Then I actually watched the show again and I remembered that I am fucking in love with it, that's why. Every single character whose name I know is a character I enjoy watching.

Of course in the first season it's a lot of, "Awwwww, [now-dead character's name here]!" But, I dunno -- with one exception (and I'm sure you know who it is) -- I really like the way BSG chooses to kill people. There's a lot of variety in it!

I should stop talking. The point is, I bet when you start watching BSG again, it will creep up on you and then suddenly one day you will go, OMG HOW DID I LIVE WITHOUT THIS SHOW IN MY LIFE FOR SUCH A LONG HIATUS?
