Severus sat on his bed, books piled high around him. He couldn’t wait to go to Hogwarts. He had spent the last month reading up on the history of the school and in particular the four founders.
He so badly wanted to be part of their legacy. These four people had made such a huge difference to the world; they had mattered. They had belonged to their own small clique and had shared something glorious between them.
That was what Severus wanted; more than the magic, more than what the school could give him academically. At Hogwarts, Severus could belong.
