Snape didn’t know why he’d taken the hair he’d found in his office after the Occulmency lesson that evening, nor why he’d added it to Slughorn’s Polyjuice. It was a higher power… or maybe his farce of a life was just beginning to get to him. He had then proceeded to sit in front of the mirror for the whole hour just looking.
If Potter was going to be careless enough to leave his hair in Snape’s office, then Severus was going to sit and look at Lily’s eyes all night. Just to remind himself what he was fighting for.
