Columnist Job

About a week ago I had a lengthy conversation with the new editor-in-chief of the Jewish Advocate. It turns out that he's also an observant Jew of the "born again" stock so we had a lot in common. He was very impressed with my professionalism, punctuality and ability to write so he said that he would recommend me to the board. Out of dozens of candidates, it came down to two candidates (me and another guy) but the other guy won out. I have it on good authority that they were really impressed with me, but they were concerned with my age. I guess the fact that the other guy is a professor of political science at Harvard had something to do with it too. Ah well.

In a way, I'm relieved -- I would have stressed myself out trying to write an article a week for a paper like that. The Babson Free Press is one thing but this is a professional paper that people actually read. I look forward to finding out the name of the professor (a conservative Jew at Harvard!) and reading his articles.
