College Brainwashing

One of my brothers is taking a sociology class; his liberal professor assigned him four articles to read before the next class. Three were by liberals (including Paul Krugman) and one was by a conservative who was criticizing the President. Fair and balanced? He also has to read a book written by the vice-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America, a socialist organization which typically works within the Democratic Party to get more socialists elected to office.

His professor lives in a liberal bubble but doesn't realize that she's in a (mostly) conservative country. How is it "sociology" to only study her little bubble? She reminds me of the liberal reporter who, when Reagan won 49 of out 50 states in 1984, said "Reagan won? But, but... I don't know anyone who voted for Reagan!"

It makes me incredibly angry that so-called "professors" can be so unprofessional as to allow their personal biases to enter the classroom. Worse, they use the classroom as a soapbox! They take young, impressionable minds and do their best to mold them into mindless clones -- how is that learning and not brainwashing? My brother is being cheated out of a real education.

lunacy, education, liberalism, higher education
