Yesterday, I came back from my small trip to Martin (which is a small town that's more in the northern part of Slovakia). This is my mother's hometown, and we even have a huge family house after her parents (one passed away long time ago and the other is in the elder's house). It has been some time since I went there, and we decided to make small trips to some other smaller towns and villages nearby.
Just driving through the roads was a blast already!!! The northern part of Slovakia mostly consists of hills, mountains and loooots of forests! This picture is kinda dirty, as I took it with my phone through the car glass, but you see what it looks like.
The most beautiful trip to me though was going to Orava castle. You see, in Slovakia, it's somewhat a tradition to built castles on hills/mountains, as that's how they could protect themselves in the armies in the knight era. So going up and up as quite exciting, because we had some BEAUTIFUL views!
Waiting at the main entrance to get inside.....
Aaaand finally inside in the main hall?!!! It was so beautiful to go through the inside parts <3333
What it looks like as we went up and up...
This is the GORGEOUS view we had from the castle! It was beautiful <3333333
Another view from the other side of the castle <3333
WHAT A COINCIDENCE who we saw over there. We just go through the nice castle and then BAM!!! Inside a door this Nosferatu figure was behind a door, so creepy yet amazing.
What is he doing there? Well, just found out that Nosferatu was ORIGINALLY filmed in this exact castle. Now that's something I can be proud of as a Slovak. I should research more about Slovak history that's worldwide known.
That's about all of it about our small trip, lastly we went to our house that's being rebuilt, and our garden was FULL of currants!!!
YUMMY!
Naturally, we went to harvest....a lot. We have so much I am afraid I won't be able to eat it all before I go to Berlin XD
There were a lot of black currants too <3333333
After that, we arrived at home yesterday afternoon, this was such a nice breath of fresh air <3333
