Not all gloom and doom
We went to the Holt's house tonight and had a great time. They have three kids who are close in age to our three kids and they all play wonderfully together. Jen baked chocolate chip cookies, which were yummy, and it was a lot of fun. I think we're going to spend a lot of time in the summer walking/biking/scootering between each other's houses and hanging out, which will be great. I really like hanging out with Jen and Shane. It's cool to have another family to be friends with. It's so hard to find both parents that you like and get along with and kids that you like and that get along with your kids. There are just so many personalities involved that it's not easy to find another group unit that you can hang out with all the time without disharmony somewhere.
Today was a good day in general. We went to Costco and picked up a few things. They were giving out samples of some veggie patties with Havarti cheese that was absolutey delicious. So I bought some of each and had that for dinner. I made cauliflower with cheese sauce that was served with it. Rob had a burger and the boys had hot dogs.
We've been watching How I Met Your Mother. I got Rob sucked into it too. We've finished season 1 and the first disc of season 2. It's so much fun! I like the snuggle time at the end of the day, when the kids are in bed. <3
