so i'm in nyc right now. manhattan. east village. e 12st.
it's so funny...tv portrays nyc so well. there are gobs of hipster folk trolling the street. i saw a ton of people freestyling. some in vans, some outside the airport. it was strange.
a long time ago, someone told me that nyc smelled like a dirty asshole...and boy, were they right. it does indeed smell like a dirty asshole, but i suppose that is to be expected in a city that has such a large population....and many dirty assholes.
so far, i've done a little bit of shopping and a lot of bar hopping. being in a bar when you don't drink is kind of an interesting experience. i'd feel funny going up to the bartender just to order a shirley temple...but i can't help it. they are so damn good.
we got some free stuff from christian joy, which was fun. the stuff wasn't anything special...but it was free, making it that much better. pixy's roommates are really fun and a bit eclectic, but it makes for really intriguing conversation. i've met a ton of people, most of whom i can't remember their names, but it's been really neat.
tomorrow i think i might do some borderline touristy things...just because it feels like it is something that i should do while i'm here. we also have plans to go to serendipity and the met. and everything else. sunday we're going to brooklyn to have a cupcake party in the park. we're celebrating pixy's birthday there.
