today was a good day
then again, most of my days are good. i got a little pissed off at work, but then poof it was gone and once again i was in a good mood.
took the dogs to the vet for their weekly dip's and grooming so they are smelling good (except penny lane who still smells like sulfur) and they are happy. they got their car ride, stuck their noses out the window, did some barking at some strange people, so they are good to go until friday when they go back.
friday penny and i are off to ft. myers to put up mom's christmas lights and spend some time with her since neither of us get to see her on christmas day. i am looking forward to it, it will be cold up there and spending time with penny's family is always nice, they are a great bunch of people who love to laugh. the dogs will be boarded and i will miss them, but we can't take them with us because mom has 2 HUGE dogs of her own and our dogs look like "toy" versions of dogs compared to hers.
i have decided that i am going to take christmas eve and christmas day off next year. i am going to have a great christmas next year. this will be the second one that i have worked, so i am due!
autifon...this is for you. the other day at work i had someone that needed to drop off a sharps container. come to find out, hospitals don't take them (they have to pay by the pound to dispose of them). so at a loss, today i asked my infection control nurse where people are supposed to take them. she said that local health departments will take them and then give you new empty ones. so, if you need to dispose of one and get a new one, that is where you are supposed to go (at least in fl).
have a few songs running around in my head. two i heard today (at very odd moments), but they are still there. one is an oldie, but so pretty, don't even know who sings it (not that it would be that hard to find out), it is 50's-60's era (not sure when it came out).
got my christmas gift from work today! yippie! a $75 gift certificate to any store from a list. i chose bed bath and beyond. i am usually not allowed to go there alone, but i told penny about it and she gave me permission (don't ask). now, if they had pier 1 or home depot or even bath and body works it wouldn't have been a big deal...but me and bed, bath and beyond....oh boy! like a moth to the flame!!!!!!! although, last time i was there i only spent 60 bucks and got some kick ass candles! this time i want my knife!!! or maybe...oh hell...i will be a kid in a candy store!
