Honestly, I didn't even notice the phonetic similarities between the two names until I was looking up information on Hasdiel and Google tried to switch my search word over to 'Castiel.' Interesting...
Anyways, this is Hasdiel, angel of benevolence and Uriel's standard-bearer. Yes, apparently, the Almighty does have a sense of humor, assigning an angel of benevolence to work so closely with the Archangel of Repentance and all-around ass kicking; but the Father always has a purpose to everything He does, and perhaps the two angels are meant to balance each other out. Or something.
For his part, Hasdiel is probably one of the least standoff-ish angels anyone could ever cross paths with. He's expressive, emotive, and surprisingly tactile for an incorporeal being of Grace. As far as he's concerned, hugs are one of the greatest inventions ever created, whether they involve arms or wings or both, or even an envelopment of Grace. It's just not in him to be dour; and though he can be quite serious when the situation calls for it, he is much more prone to smiling and encouraging others to do the same.
Despite Hasdiel's cheerful disposition and his merciful nature, being an angel of benevolence and all, don't presume that he's a pushover in battle -- because he's not. One doesn't serve under a leader like Uriel without being an adept warrior in his own right, and judgment and mercy do go hand in hand after all.
