Yes, I am still here, and my apologies for not being as on top of recent news as I should be, but here's another news post.
We all know about yasu's solo project, ACID BLACK CHERRY (and we're excited over here about that, to be sure), but what about all the other members?
you is still working on his solo albums, and will be appearing at SUMMER SONIC in Osaka on August 11th (with, coincidentally, ACID BLACK CHERRY appearing on the 12th). Tickets are a bit steep at 13,500 yen for one day, and 24,500 yen for both days. I'd recommend checking out the SUMMER SONIC website for a full list of bands if you think you're going to want to go to that, as it's a really large show with a bunch of various bands.
ka-yu is still doing jewelry designing with GIGOR, and according to the newest post over at the Janne Da Arc no Moto blog, he was supposed to appear on the show this week, but is very busy with recording, so kiyo took his place. What exactly he's recording hasn't been announced yet, but be on the lookout for news from him soon!
kiyo has been doing support work with fellow avex artist kaede, who just released an album at the end of May on which kiyo appears, entitled Organic. He is also working on solo material, but he has been saying that the process has been quite difficult, and to just wait a little longer for him! (He mentions on the radio show that he's worried people think he's a little slow for taking so long, poor guy.)
shuji has admitted to not doing very much after releasing the drumming tutorial DVD a few months ago...but maybe we'll hear something. He has been hanging around with kiyo and you for sure, so he's not entirely off the map.
Also, Janne Da Arc fanclub members should expect a new fanclub magazine this month, the photoshoots for which were just finished about a week ago...so I would suppose they will send those out next week or the following week, after which we should have even more news to share.
Lastly, for those of you in Japan and able to listen to BUZZ ROCK on the radio, ACID BLACK CHERRY'S SPELL MAGIC was played on this week's show, so if you head over to their main website, you can request the song to be played and see if they'll hook you up. By the way, according to ABC's official site, the B-side of the SPELL MAGIC single is a song called Shinin' On Kimi ga Kanashii, which, at least to me, sounds like a ballad title...so for those of you who love yasu's ballads, it might be worth picking up. CDJapan has both versions available, but at this time they're listed under yasu's name and not under Acid Black Cherry, so keep that in mind if you're looking for it (or just scroll through the community for the link).
