Someone probably said once that if days are like grains of sand, slipping through the neck of an hourglass, then our lives are like beaches. If they didn’t say that, then they should have, because it’s a good metaphor.
There are never enough hours in a day for me. There are never enough days in a week, never enough weeks in a month, months in a year… it goes on, and there’s still never enough.
Infinity isn’t enough.
There aren’t enough days in my life to waste like this. Sitting on the other side of the room from you, watching from the corners whilst you joke easily with all my friends. Watching, wishing, resenting.
There aren’t enough days in eternity to spend them like this.
Forgiveness and pride are small prices to pay for the rest of our lives.
