I stand next to him, my heart in my mouth.
My niece is walking up the aisle, chubby 5 year old hands holding a pillow in front of her; his eyes are still sparkling. He chews on his lip before smiling at my niece and bending down to kiss her and take the ring.
He kissed me with those lips last night.
I wish that diamond was for me.
It’s not.
He puts it on her finger, sparkling Finnish beauty in white; shining white on her finger now.
It should be on mine.
I never thought I would hate being Best Man.
