Hello everyone. Since I seem to be rich in confusion and poor in thought lately, I'll make myself a newsgirl of sorts and post the movie events happening in New Orleans this weekend.
July 15 & 16 - 2001: A Space Odyssey, 12:30 am @ the Prytania
July 15 & 16 - Pretty in Pink, 12:00 am @ Canal Place
July 16 - My Fair Lady, 2:00 pm @ the Saenger
July 16 - Breakfast at Tiffany's, 7:30 pm @ the Saenger
Yeah, so I think I'm going to play the girl card and go to Pretty in Pink with Janelle tomorrow.
::fuses palms to temples::
What I wouldn't give to be a girl again. In body, I suppose I am. But I am surrounded by stuffy adults. The gossip is on-par with that of teenage girls, but that's the only remnant of femininity in these women.
I try to bring up non-slanderous topics of conversation in the lunch room and I get stares. The only time people respond to me is if I a specific question to a specific person - loudly. They've got this aura of "seasoned professionalism" that isn't professional at all. It's so trite. Why not discuss things that matter instead of talking about people behind their backs? It baffles me that this is the group moving up in the world.
But, I am making $10 an hour, and since I've been temping for the temp who up and went to France (must be nice, right?) my mom and I have been getting along better. Since I surrendered my receptionist duties to the lovely Sarah (head attorney's niece) my mom had me doing pet projects for her - and our working methods are clearly incompatible. I think I'm incompatible with LLPs in general.
