Yesterday was a deliciously fantastical day. And by that, I mean I watched Howl's Moving Castle, finished up the last season of Three's Company, and started in on Remington Steele. Aside from that, I slept. I slept 'til 10:00 am, watched some TV, and then slept 'til 4:00 in the afternoon. Read a bit of Madeline before going to bed around 10:30, too.

Erm, yeah. I bought the complete collection of the Madeline stories at Ollie's the other day for $19. Usual retail is $35. I only recalled half of them as I read through. I was surprised by how little detail is actually in the stories yet how much more detail is in my memory. Kids books are funny that way.

Watching Howl made me want to read the books again, which made me further lament how little reading I've been doing recently. But then I remembered that I'd already read the series once this year, and I am supposed to be reading fairy tales, and I've got several other books that I should be reading if ever I find time for it.

I like where the movie brought me, though. I didn't want to leave.

Sometimes, I almost feel as if it's all real, hidden just beyond our grasp. And, like ghosts, belief in the thing creates its existence. Those who aren't open to receiving can't receive, and I'd rather foolishly believe in what's not there than scoff it off and lose out when it makes itself known...
