Hmm...Female main character dresses up as a guy, wreaks havoc, and leaves family behind for the sake of love? And excessive, dramatic use of lighting in supposedly dark places. Then again, Zhang Jizhong likes to make TV series that cinematically can pass for big screen movies.

Usually an HSDS TV series lasts for 40 episodes. This version is still being edited, but I figure it wouldn't be longer than 50 eps.

O_o And these are hour-long episodes? Wow. Man, this is a REAL time investment.

Yep, hour-long episodes. But you're talking to a person who's watched all 40 episodes of HSDS 1986 not once but twice in the past two months, soo... ^^
And Zhang Jizhong productions have garnered a lot of fans, so they must figure the enterprise is worth it.
