For the heroinebigbang fic, I want to write something based on Legend of Sanctuary. Makes sooo much sense, doesn't it? *eyeroll*
The reason Naruto is still a bestselling manga is that Kishimoto isn't afraid to pull the wackiest tricks (see this shameless fanservice? Yeah.) and doesn't hesitate to kill off popular characters. It's much better than stale repetition and characters that just won't die. Not reading One Piece, I can't speak for it, but I've heard people say Odacchi is great at plotting.
