Code:Breaker 163: The nature of future power-ups has been made clear...

StS: We interrupt our scheduled Asgard arc rants with comments on the Poseidon arc (which also comes with French-only subs).

. Hayami Shou doesn't sound as silky as he was going to be, but he's well on his way. He's rather wasted as Baian - should've been Kanon.

. The Poseidon arc is a straightforward adaptation of the manga with no fillers and no prolonged scenes. So are the Hades Meikaihen and Elysion-hen OVAs, but those OVAs strike me as lazy. No inventiveness at all, no passion in the directing and animation. Everything is copied verbatim from the manga pages.

. The part where Thetis takes Julian to Poseidon's kingdom is included in the anime. I'd rather it's the part where Julian tells Sorento that he doesn't remember what happens to him during the floods.

. One thing I've never understood: Thirteen years ago Saga locks up Kanon in Cape Sounion. Kanon doesn't die thanks to Athena's Cosmo. Okay, so even as a baby Saori can already use her Cosmo to rescue drowning people. I can buy that. What I don't buy is that Ikki knows this. How? Did she tell him? Oh, plot holes.

. After Saori is released from Main Breadwinner, Poseidon throws his trident at her and Seiya stops it with his body. Why not Kanon like in the manga? A little payback for unsealing Poseidon won't kill him. ^^

. At the very end of the final episode, Shaina is shown without her mask and wearing a jacket and trousers. It almost looks like she's in disguise! as a normal teenager, that is.

I stumbled into more rumors of a TV series remake. We already know Yokoyama Seiji won't be in it, and Himeno Michi may not be either. Maybe the new character design will resemble the LosCan OVA's? If the series sticks closely to the manga, they might show Shun barechested so there won't be any doubt about his gender :D The new series is planned to be US market-friendly, whatever that means.
