Getting Messy - a_carrion_crow

Helena Kyle forced the third bucket of paint open, not closing it again like she had the others. Two rollers waited. Some of the kids had offered to help her, but she'd sent them out to play, at least for a little while. If she ended up needing the help, a couple of them would still be interested at least.

She turned on the radio, finding a popular station. What kind of music did Joshua like? Well, she'd adjust it later if he wanted something different. A folded blanket waited in the middle of the sheet-covered room, a picnic basket set on top of it. Once they'd gotten at least some of the painting done, they'd have lunch, as promised. Then, just like she'd told him, they'd have a proper dinner when it was totally done.

Hopefully he'd thought to bring a spare pair of clothes. Of course, Helena didn't really care if they went for dinner in paint-stained clothes. If he wanted, she'd direct him to the showers. She'd probably take one herself once they were done. Because of the activity planned, she wore jeans with frayed cuffs and a loose t-shirt, and her hair was pulled back, out of her face.

She looked far different than the socialite at the party.
