Bernard and Monica Emory hosted a September party every year. In their younger days, it celebrated the return of their five children to boarding school. Now, with those children grown, it was merely held out of tradition. There was dinner and toasting and some dancing. They entered the main rooms, where several groups of attendees lingered. Joshua looked around, then whispered, "See anyone familiar?"

It was Huntress who mentally cataloged everyone she could see, identifying almost everyone there. She picked out the socialites, the old money and the new money. Then she saw a very distinctive man. Tall, thin... Oh, she knew him. Dr. Jonathan Crane. The Scarecrow.

However, Helena turned to Joshua and gave a sheepish smile. "Just the people I know from the society pages."

After a moment or two more, Helena let her eyes settle again on Crane. "Oh! Him? Crane, isn't it?" After all, with some prompting, anyone in Gotham should know him-- just not immediately, as she was both younger and still somewhat of an outsider to Gotham high society.
