Good news!
I don't qualify for the study!
Now for the not great but I'll take it news: I still have to stay on a Ketoish diet. Since I won't be on a medication that could possibly stop and/or reverse liver damage, then I need to keep it from going south on my own. I'll need to have my gastro monitor liver enzymes, and suggested redo of fibroscan, I think she said a year? She said since the biopsy only looks at such a small percentage of the liver, it can't really definitively give them the complete view, but from the piece they took I am not stage 2. Anyway, I'll leave it up to Dr. Z to tell me what to do next. I immediately asked about the diet, though. Talk about shooting my dream of a chocolate twist out of the sky. Meh, I may have one anyway. I deserve it! I'm also not going to worry as much about my coffee creamer. I managed to come up with a drinkable solution, which I was willing to do 100%, but not if it's not as bad as they thought lol! I'll keep it sugar free, but I'm OK with a little sugar alternative they put in it. Welcome back chemical creamer, I missed you thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis much!
Oh, yeah, and I got the good news as I was walking out the door for my dermatologist appointment. It's been a bit of a full year for me, so I didn't make my appointment last year. I think the number of biopsies doubles with the number of years you procrastinate. This year it's three. None of them the one spot I had noticed looked different. No, that's just an age spot. Instead it was a spot on the back of my thigh that I couldn't see, a spot on my forehead hairline, and a nice juicy bump on my wrist. That one got what she called a hole punch and a stitch. I really thought the thing on the hairline was just one of the things she burns off each visit. Apparently, it looked too fleshy? I mean, it is flesh... Flesh, that word may end up on the cringe list with moist and slacks.
I guess that's all for this journal for the time being. It was really just a way to convey information about the study.
