Keychain of the Day
So my new special friend Hotch decided to mail me some keychains. Although we had been gaming buddies for awhile, we've only become better friends more recently so it was a truly pleasant surprise how well he nailed what I like. He also sent a letter and some cool ninja turtle art which was rad as well.
The first keychain was Mickey. I can always use more Mickey. Florida keychains are the best keychains which is why I have so many of them. Well that and proximity anyway.
I had to burst another person's bubble about how despite what folks think, Florida is not crawling with wild flamingos. It's sort of like the tropical version of up north places having moose on a lot of their tourism merch but when you talk to locals, no one has ever actually seen one. My old grad school prof saw some off Key Biscayne once but that's about it. Obviously they are easy to find around here in captivity. My mom was mugged by one once. True story. Anyway, this flamingo keychain is super fun and I like the little heart on it too.
I'm really into this Chip and Dale keychain. Another wildlife fun fact about Florida- we don't have chipmunks. The closest I've seen is northern Alabama. Because of this I'm very interested in chipmunks because I consider them to be incredibly exotic creatures. I also really liked Rescue Rangers as a kid and still do. It holds up in a recent rewatch of the series. Dale always was my favorite for the same reasons I liked Michelangelo as my favorite ninja turtle. There's just always something to love about a good time guy. I also like the little acorn charm on the keychain as well. It's a nice touch. Plus Hotch does seem like a fun dude to get into trouble with :P
Finally, we have the crazy rat lady keychain. I've actually been wanting one of these for years but there are so many options for them that I would get decision fatigue and never actually choose one. So it was nice to have someone pick for me and find such an incredibly good one. I love the little heart rat charm. It really makes me think of my dear sweet Nosebelle as well as my current little dude, Nikolai.
So thanks again to Hotch for finding all these great additions to my collection and mailing them to me. It was honestly super sweet and really means a lot to me. Who knows? I might even attach some to my actual keys and (gasp!) USE THEM!!! Which long time readers know almost never actually happens in real life. But this time... I think it might ;)
