Keychain of the Day
This was actually kinda tricky since I didn't just want to grab a keychain with a guitar on it. It's a bit of a stretch but I present to you this J-Hope keychain. If there ever was a group of fans involved in both indoctrination and enlightenment (but will they really find it there?) it's this crowd. I know just enough k pop to be dangerous. blackpink and 2NE1 are fairly entertaining but definitely not underground by any stretch of the imagination.
If you are curious, my favorite tune in the genre is here. I know my taste is trash in music but hey, the song does have Russian subtitles. Of course then my roommate is like how is reading along to Korean music helping you learn but pah, details details.
I keep trying to get him and anyone who will listen to spend one hour learning to read Korean. So easy! Especially compared to my Arabic reading. Probably the main reason this is my favorite Korean song is because when I was taking a boat from Oman to India, for some reason this song was played about 500 times a day. I was absolutely brainwashed but I ain't mad 'bout it. Anyway, speaking of the roommate...
The reason I have this keychain at all is because my roomie's first name starts with a J and middle has the word hope in it. I live with a literal J-Hope in the flesh. That's a very fun statement to tell BTS fans to make them go crazy. So yes, I totally had to buy this keychain. I originally bought it for my friend but he declined and thought I was nuts as usual. But it really riles him when I call him J-Hope :) I'm incorrigible.
