my love for you is deep as a coalmine

Sam Roberts was (predictably) awesome last night. We had the cheapest date ever as we rode the bus downtown and ate shwarma for dinner before the show. The opening act was The Stills--who I feel rather positively towards--and they didn't disappoint. Our seats were pretty perfect; in the balcony. We overlooked the stage which was very excellent. The switching stuff between acts was a bit long and Sam's show felt short but I left feeling impressed with the overall experience. Night and day from Feist's concert a few weeks ago. There was no fighting, just a lot of pot smoking ; there's a reason we nicknamed a joint a sammy a few years ago after my first experience at a Sam Roberts concert.

A partial setlist to the best of my recollection (but not in order):

love at the end of the world
hard road
with a bullet
brother down
where have all the good people gone?
them kids
detroit 67
fixed to ruin
mind flood
lions of the kalahari
oh maria
stripmall religion
the gate
bridge to nowhere

For the very reason that the jam they did during this song last night nearly burst brain cells in its awesomeness I shall post the studio version. And because he didn't play my very favorite song (no sleep) I am posting it because it makes my heart happy.
