Martha Stewart has a cute idea for a semi-alternative guestbook; she recommends sticking empty, colored envelopes onto the pages, then having guests fill out index cards and stick them in the envelopes. I love this idea, and the opportunity for guests to leave more than just their names and addresses. I wrote a silly little poem to explain the concept to guests. What do you think?

Today's the day to pour our hearts,
So here's the honest truth:
We're burdened with naivete
That often follows youth.

When it comes to marriage working,
We have a lot to learn.
We bet you have advice to share,
And now, here is your turn!

Envelopes are in the book,
And cards are on the table.
Jot down advice or wishes,
And leave them, if you're able!
