My Plot To Make Mom Cave
Little black kitten with wide yellow eyes,
Curious about the world.
Your claws dig in lightly as we walk around.
And the excitement in you makes me smile.
Little black kitten I've picked out your collar and it's adorned with a black cameo.
But you're not mine,
So I'll leave you behind.
My sweet Mistoffolees.
I wrote this little poem after my mother told me the little black kitten at the adoption center wasn't coming home with me. I read this to her and she nearly crumbled, damn it, so close.
