There's a restaurant in Malibu called Gladstones, seafood place right next to the ocean. When you're done eating, they wrap up your leftovers in foil and make it into origami...usually stuff like fish or swans. Me, mom, and
rainbowfroggy went there today and just had a blast. I told our waiter I wanted a fighter jet...and he actually did it! It looked sorta like a stingray, but it was a fighter jet, damnit. The house vodka was Kamchatka, the guy was saying he could never remember it and had to ask a passing waiter what it was, then said "Well, no wonder I can never remember." I said if I worked there, I'd be like "The house vodka is Joanie loves Chachi..." so the rest of the time I just kept making references to Chachi vodka. We also got a foil penguin and island, the penguin was the best 'cause the same waiter did that and was trying to keep it a secret, but the busboy came to collect our plates and was like "Oh, cute penguin!" The look on the waiter's face was just adorable while he said "Heeey, you ruined the surprise!" So the busboy grabbed a napkin and was like, "Oh, excuse me, it's not a penguin. My mistake." and held it up like a curtain. When the waiter was done, the busboy pulled the napkin away all dramatic like, and they were both all "TADA! A penguin! You didn't see that one coming, did you?" The island was done by another guy who I guess is also a busboy, my guess is he's been working there so long that he got sick of making swans and started doing more involved things. I feel sorry for them when people who are in a rush come in.
