Last night was a night out at the local watering hole, Charleston's http://www.charlestonsbarandgrill.com/ , to celebrate two of my coworkers' last day at work. We were all sad to see them go, as they are super nice guys who bring a balance and levity to our female-dominated office that will be immediately and noticeably absent. It was an ultra fun night, though, with tons of laughs and that coworker-to-friend transition happening with lots of people across the board. I also found out that I have a surprising aptitude for that bean bag game that mid-westerners are so fond of. One of the departing coworkers gave me a ride home in his mustang convertible, and the night air was delicious. At home I finished a book, had a snack, took my vitamins and chugged a Gatorade before bed, which was the right thing to do after having drinks on a work night.

Today I start a a 48 hour liquid cleanse to kick off food reset. Don't worry- it's not lemon juice and cayenne pepper, and I'm not trying to drop 20 pounds. I'm keeping my calorie count high with a variety of teas, protein shakes and raw fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies. After so much craziness in my life, I really just feel the urge to start with a blank slate and flush my body clean. If I don't feel right, I'll change tactics, but so far so good.

social life, work, food reset
