We lost our photographer for the wedding. We waited too long to sign the contract and another couple stole him. I'd love your opinions on the three new people we've narrowed it down to.
Anne Ruthmann
http://anneruthmann.blogspot.com/search/label/weddingPros- She was recommended highly to us by both the photog we lost out on and the one who shot Robin & Jim's wedding, which means she's REALLY good. Her reply to our email was sweet and passionate.
Cons- She's the most expensive. It would cost us 4 grand for 7 hours with her, plus we'd have to use an intern as a 2nd photographer. We wanted to do a day-after shoot, which would bring the total to at least 4,500, and possibly 5,000.
Jeff Newcum
http://www.jnweddings.com/Pros- we love his daring, edgy style the most, and he was featured on offbeatbride.com for a same-sex wedding he did. We could get him and a 2nd professional photographer for 6 hours plus the day after session for 3,700.
Cons- So far our correspondence with him has been all forms and form letters. My extensive Google stalking revealed a few good reviews and then 3 bad reviews saying they loved his pictures but that it took literally years (in in one case 2 certified letters) to get all their wedding books. One review said he drank at the wedding and licked a bridesmaid

http://earlchristie.net/wedding/alice-caseys-squam-lake-wedding/Pros- He's got tons of awards and 5 star reviews. His response to our email was prompt, detailed, and very warm. We could get him and a professional 2nd photographer plus the day-after shoot for 4,050.
Cons- He can't commit to doing the day after shoot on the actual day after, in case there is a Sunday wedding he could possibly be booked to shoot. In that event, we'd have to wait until Monday, which wouldn't be too bad I guess. He's not quite as edgy and daring as we'd like. We really want stunning, artistic shots for the wedding. We might be able to get him to really go for it, but who knows?
