I want to go back and do the weekend over. It went by waaaaay too quickly.
Friday night I came in......not hung-over exactly. I started Thursday night at our local work hangout with my bosses and a few cabernets. Then we went to
Radegast Hall & Biergarten for my boss' birthday party. I only had one shot and one beer, but
did you see that beer? Long story short, I wasn't feeling too hot on Friday morning, and not only did I have to work, I had an audition for a circus show after work. It was extremely heavy on improv, and I did what I used to have to do in theatre classes: completely swallow my pride and any sense of myself, and play. I got offered a part. Now I just have to take a long, hard look at my schedule and see if I can accept.
Carey was at Port Authority to meet me when I was done the audition, which was fabulous. We had a yummy soup and salad dinner back at my place and watched "Lust, Caution," which blew me AWAY.
The next morning was our anniversary. I'd already taken Carey on our trip to Atlanta, so I gave him the developed film from the trip and a couple of enlargements. We would've loved to sleep late and lounge in bed, but it was it was my day to team up with the TONY photographer and do the legwork for my "Great Walks" piece. We made the best of it. I took Greta out and Carey bought us breakfast, then we met the photographer at Fort Tryon Park. We walked through the Heather Garden, The Cloisters, and up Broadway until we got to Inwood Hill Park. Carey took leave at that point (I found out later to raid the Farmer's Market and start cooking me a delicious meal). Christian and I finished up, and I got to go home to a yummy brunch. Carey disappeared a little later and came back with flowers, champagne, and Ben & Jerry's. I love that man.
Saturday night we nested, and I almost clubbed him over the head to keep him from leaving for work the next morning. I needed to write my article, though, and after beating writer's block by reading an entire book cover to cover and giving myself a very forceful pep-talk, I cranked it out. I hope it's good!
Sunday night I went to bed alone, but Carey came in quietly around 1am after his band rehearsal. Yay and Amen. Today was as good as it can be considering I work in Private Equity. The Dow ended nearly 500 points lower today- its worst point drop in more than seven years. Scary.
