Writer's Block: Jackpot

Feb 19, 2009 14:59

You mean AFTER all the responsible stuff, like paying off the house & debt, and investing some for later, right?? (The last comes because I'm *already* self-employed, which means I already get screwed for "retirement".)

...Getting the house updated out of the 70's would be grand - i.e., let's get rid of the harvest gold toilet & tub in the guest bath, shall we? - and putting some long-overdue effort into the curb appeal is high on my list.  This is my office, after all.
...Trading in the existing cars for more reliable models would be ideal. As would be paying off the balance in cash.
...An RV has been forefront in my mind lately. I adore the idea of getting to take a road trip WITH the kids, so we wouldn't have to rush back home. And having won the lottery, I'd be able to afford the gas to drive an RV. =) I've recently been hit upside the head with a list of places that I'd love to visit, for which I don't even need a passport and don't have to quarrantine the cats. Having them with us in a controlled environment that they could get used to while we drive around or laze around? Bonus.
...I would donate at least $1k each to the American Lung Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Fund, Susan G. Lomen Breast Cancer Fund, Parkinson's Disease research, and to the feline diabetes society of my vet's choice. All are issues near & dear.
...I'd take both jumbo plastic bins that are FULL of photographs in to be professionally scanned & archived.
...I would sign up for the best health insurance money can buy. 'Cause, well, I need it.  (Only then can we contemplate the dreaded "family" thing, anyway.)
...I'd like to deposit a smallish amount into each of my parents' bank accounts anonymously, as well as a few select family-friends.
...I'd invest in much spiffier versions of our laptops so that we could take our work on the road as needed without issue.  I get so bored with zero work!

I know, these things seem so paltry, and I'm so practically-minded with this list...but, what can I say?  How else do you think I've kept food on the table for the past 15 years? ;)
