I remember being surprised by the opening of the book because it took place in the Muggle Prime Minister's office instead of the Dursleys'. We, the readers, don't even see Harry until Chapter 3! Wer'e quickly brought up to speed with a summary of events we know must've had magical causes, and a mention of "chilly mist in the middle of July." I love Fudge's quote, "I've been having the same week you have, Prime Minister," as well as the Prime Minister's very awkwardly politically correct, "How should I know what's going on in the - er - Wizarding community?" on page 10.
I'd like to hear your predictions: How do you all think the movie will open? Will it be true to the book, with the two Prime Ministers? Will we skip to Chapter 2 and start out at Spinner's End with Bellatrix and Narcissa's visit to Snape? Or will the movie open with the perspective squarely on Harry?
As we prepare for the American opening, I would loooove to hear your predictions for how the movie will begin!
During my re-read I also copied down some of my favorite quote from the book. Until then,
