Baby is finally here! Short birth story(nothing gory)
Xander Matthew is here!!!
I went in last Monday (8/9/10) for my second ultrasound/NST. They discovered that my fluid levels were a bit low, so they decided it was time to induce and I was sent to the hospital the same day. The ended up giving my 2 doses of Cytotec that afternoon, which got contractions going good and strong and got me dilating, so they didn't give me the third dose. My water broke around midnight, and the contractions started getting alot stronger. They started pitocin the next morning around 10:00 and after getting stuck at 8 cm with the INCREDIBLE urge to push for about 2 hours, they forced me from 8-10 cm and within moments, Xander was born at 2:26 pm. He weighed 10 lbs, 1 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. He's a sweet little guy, and we are SO glad he's here! His big brother is really enjoying holding him and trying to share his toys with him, which is so cute. It also prompted a really cute discussion between Paul and Nathan about how only MOMMIES can nurse the baby (after Nathan really wanted to try feeding the baby himself.)
