Why I'm not reviewing a book today
I know it's Monday, and I usually do a book review on Mondays, but it's very late, and I still haven't finished the book I'm supposed to review. Next week, I promise...
The reason I didn't finish the book today is that I had a surprise visitor, that friend of mine, who lives a few train stations away from my place. She had a day off, and nothing much to do, so she came over. We were supposed to go for a walk, but it started raining out of nowhere, so we had tea and waited for the weather to clear a bit, Then we went to the library and to the store. After we came back, with lots to read and eat, we made baked apples with ice cream, and watched an episode of The Simpsons. I just got home after seeing her to the station. We noticed there were lots of young people out getting drunk, which is a little unexpected on a Monday night, but to each their own.
I found a hilarious website today, toplessrobot.com or something like that, I'll post the proper adress later. It's a blog about pop culture with a recurring fanfiction Friday meme, where the writer finds horrendous examples of fanfic (horrendous either in grammar, general writing or subject matter, or some combination thereof), and the stories must be read to be believed. I've read fanfics with unusual pairings before, but Darth Vader and Harry Potter - really? The creativity of some people is to be commended. One can only hope that they continue to use it for good,or at least for relatively neutral stuff, like writing...
So, in conclusion, this was a fun if unproductive start of the week. I hope everyone survived the weekend. See you tomorrow, with lots of questions and answers!
