This has not been a good day. I woke up, after some four hours of sleep, at 06:30 AM, because my back and left side were hurting, and I'm still aching after almost 12 hours. I have no idea how I've managed to strain my back, or pull a muscle, because I didn't hurt myself at all yesterday. I've rubbed on some ointment, taken a pain pill, applied cold and heat, rested and tried to massage it, but nothing seems to help, except resting. So much for shopping... This is the kind of day when I'm especially grateful to have a computer with Internet access, and books, and series and movies, to keep me occupied. Piano practice is out of the question, and knitting would be, but I don't have anything to knit now, anyway.
Things aren't any better for poor David Copperfield. They are actually a good deal worse, since he became an orphan. His step-father cares nothing for him, and now he's left school. It's just as well that he won't have that nasty headmaster mistreating him, but his idol, Steerforth, is no kind of a friend for anyone you care about. David looks up to Steerforth, but the older boy only wants to manipulate him, and he doesn't care for other people. He reminds me of Tom Riddle in the Harry Potter books, he's just the kind of boy that turns out to be a jerk, although everyone likes and respects him to begin with.
If, by a miracle, my back feels better tomorrow, I'm going to go and see my cousin's new apartment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because I could be of some help with the unpacking, and I promised to help them all I can. Baby is still doing great, and she has gained weight, and has a very hearty appetite. It's such a comfort, since she is so small. It's three weeks before her due date tomorrow. She seems to be observing the new surroundings, and to have grasped the fact that she is in a new place. After all, the echo is louder, the light probably comes from another angle, and so on.
I think I'll stop writing and rest my back some more. See you tomorrow!
