Hodgepodge of a post!

+
camelotremix has gone live this morning! MY GIFT IS AWESOME: First Up Against the Wall (the grease and diesel oil remix), it's Gwen/Morgana, modern AU, a remix of this little smutlet I wrote at a Fleet party called Grease-Stained? I'm kind of flailing that someone's made something so wonderful from it. The author's basically turned it into a scene from a longer fic; it has mechanic!Gwen, cute hot Gwen/Morgana-ness, mechanic!Gwen, a great supporting cast, mechanic!Gwen, touches on class issues, and also mechanic!Gwen. IT IS THE GREATEST.

I wrote one too obviously! But I can't say which one until sometime next week, I believe. (I imagine mine is super-easy to guess, for better or worse, but OH WELL. *g*) Hopefully my recipient is as happy with her gift as I am with mine. I have some vagueish ideas who might have written mine, but I'm not sure. Anyway, check it out; there are 31 fics, four of them Gwen/Morgana even!

+ There was some TV I was going to talk about! I'll be brief, and I'll go in order of my reactions, from 'BEST' to 'mixed' to 'what the actual fuck', shall I?

+ The Good Wife

I haven't mentioned this show here before, to my shame, because if we cancel out Merlin (which is only, ONLY my favorite because it has a Gwen in it) ... The Good Wife is my favorite show on television right now. SO. MUCH. QUALITY.

I love almost everyone on that show, EVERYONE, but my fave is Kalinda. We're talking Guinevere levels of love, people. Gorgeous, brilliant, badass, textually bisexual, great fashion sense, and the ability to not allow me to focus on ANYONE ELSE when she's on screen. I ship her with Alicia and Cary and that hotass agent from last season. Not sure about her and Blake, because tbh I don't really care for him yet? He was intriguing at first but I think he's being really immature about this Leela thing, whatever it means - I mean, how many times has he brought it up now? and to ALICIA as well? I cheered when she shut that infantile shit down. I'm not sure if it's him, or if it's that the show needs to move that plotline along already, but I'm over it.

This week was good for Kalinda/Cary though. I ship it more than I did last season. I thought his flirting -- and her cool, direct disinterest in it -- last season were delightful to watch and even though she wasn't into him, they have fantastic chemistry.

My other ship, Peter/Alicia, is going strong too. AUGH dysfunctional marrieds ftw. I loved Peter's convo with the brother, how even though he hurt Alicia himself, he's still protective of her/still loves her so much in a way that for some reason doesn't make me angry. I wish Will/Alicia weren't inevitable; I find the marrieds so much more fascinating.

+ Glee

So goobalicious emailed and said that Brittany/Santana kind of made out, which led to this week's episode of Glee being the first and only one I have seen all season. It wasn't even terrible! I mean, parts of it were, as always, but Brittany/Santana DID make out, and there was neck nuzzling, and Brittany is in love with Santana, who is panicking a little and acting like she doesn't care, so then Brittany goes after Artie to make her jealous, and it works, and then she goes to Breadsticks and pushes a meatball around her plate with her nose.

IS WHAT BASICALLY WENT ON IN THAT EPISODE. IT WAS AWESOME.

Also Sam is super-charming, Mercedes and Santana should sing everything ever, Artie is THE WORST, THE WORST OF THE WORST, and Mike Chang is my boyfriend.

+ Sons of Anarchy

I seem to remember a show that had interesting storylines, consistent characterizations, wasn't a soap opera, and in which Jax Teller wasn't a fucking asshole. Anyone know where that show went?

Basically watching for love of Tara at this point. It's not that Jax has hurt her because he's himself hurting, and is making a misguided attempt to protect her from his life. If that was all it was, I'd be fine. But that's not what happened. He's taken all her love, sacrifice and support and thrown it back in her face and become someone I don't even recognize OR want Tara to be with at this point. His manpain is OUT OF CONTROL, the writing in general has been way over the top, and I don't even know what to do about this season. I think it's been a mess and my OTP is dead. BLAH.

Not to end this post on a bad note or anything. :P
