I thought since I can't sleep and I'm getting upset, I would log some fun memories of the last couple of weeks with Derek.

We have been going to the beach a lot on weekends and having fun drinking with everyone.  Last weekend was the only weekend we didn't get to go to the beach, which is funny because we drove up to Hilton Head with Bryan, his friend Anna and T.O.  We had a really good time and I really liked Anna, she is a cool person.  We drove into some plantation first by accident while we were looking for the Holiday Inn.  We finally found the Holiday Inn and stayed in room 332.  Saturday night we walked around and went to dinner at Bamboo something or other.  The wine there knocked me off my feet!  One glass and I was toasted... I think it was called Falling Star Chardonnay.  I recommend it if you like sweet, fruity wine.  I don't remember too much else about that night.  We went back to the hotel and drank some more, ordered food, and Derek and I fell asleep before the food came!  I woke up after Bryan and Anna had gone back and I remember being really disappointed that T.O. finished his meatball sandwich.  That kid is like a brother to me, moreso than any of the other guys.  He's a really good person and I hope when he gets back he finds a really nice girl.  Anyway, the next day we woke up and checked out of the hotel.  It was raining all night and still drizzling when we woke up so we didn't think we'd get to go to the beach.  When we went to the car, it was alright and looked like it might clear up.  We walked around for a while and found me some new bathing suits.  We decided to rent jet skis at that plantation we were at the day before.  Derek went with Peak last summer so he kind of knew where it was, but got a map from CVS on the way.  We went all the way to this jet ski rental place and of course it was closed.  We walked around the harbor and saw lots of really nice boats that we all wish we some day afford.  There was one sailboat everyone agreed was at least a million dollars.  Derek and I both picked out one boat as our favorite but didn't know the other picked it.  It had tinted windows all around and there was lots of space on the deck.  The chairs on the top were really nice too.  I wish we could have seen the inside.  We got some smoothies and drove back to good old Hinesville, dropped Bryan and Anna off at the barracks on the way.  We went to dinner at chilis that night and of course since we were in a rush, we had the slowest waitress ever.  Saw spiderman 3 which was awesome.  That was pretty much Derek's last weekend at home.  Oh yeah, on Friday we hung out and watched some movies I think....  Anyway we saw some other movies recently that were really good- Disturbia and The Condemned.  They were excellent!  We saw Vacancy, but it wasn't really that good.  During this past week we just tried to spend a lot of time together.  It's such a blur, I can't really remember what we did other than hang out and watch tv.  Our moms got here on Thursday and we spent some alone time, and some time with them.  Leaving for deployment was a friggin mess, because the army is screwed up and doesn't know anything until the last minute... or after the last minute sometimes.  I'll explain more about that later when I'm not so upset about everything.  At least we did get some extra time together before he left, it just would have been nice to have another solid night of sleep next to each other rather than several small naps because of the delay.  Oh well.  Derek's doing alright, he's in some tent in Kuwait trying to deal with the sweltering heat and I'm laying in my huge bed all by myself.  AAAAAAHHHHHH this needs to go by quick!  I don't even know how I'm going to deal with this.
