A/N: Hello! Here is chapter 3! I apologize for the shortness of it. As usual, constructive criticism is welcome, but please be kind about it. I don’t mind if there are things you don’t necessarily like, but please don’t be rude! I don’t think I will have a problem with that here, but I thought I should preface that just in case... please let me know what you think!

Chapter 3

Why wasn’t he answering his phone? Jin was getting frustrated. He had just talked to him not too long ago! There was no way he was in the restroom. No one took that long in there unless they were very very sick. Yamapi better not have gotten sick. Jin was looking forward to the evening ahead with his four favorite things: food, alcohol, girls, and his best friend.

Jin texted him the information about the cab, but was afraid Yamapi wouldn’t see it in time. Luckily, the cabs have trouble getting into that airport, but Yamapi still didn’t have a lot of time. He needed to be waiting right where the driver said he would pick him up.

His phone rang and he grabbed it, expecting to see Yamapi’s name on the screen. He was disappointed when he read “Laura”. What was she doing calling him right now? It was nowhere near time to go! He answered.

“What is it, sweetheart?”

“Hey, sugar, I was just calling to ask a question about this date I’m supposed to be finding your friend. Lilly, the one I told you about, actually can’t make it. I need to know, how tall is your friend and what kind of girls does he like?” Jin was extremely annoyed. He knew this was just an excuse to call him. He hated needy girls. He kept calling on Laura only because she was good in bed.

“Why does his height matter?”

“To make sure I bring a girl that isn’t too tall of course!”

“He is about 5’7”. It really doesn’t matter what kind of girl, just as long as she’s not rude or repulsive. Ok?” He was getting more and more annoyed by the second at Laura’s excessive attention and Yamapi’s lack of attention. Apparently, Laura could hear the tension in Jin’s voice because she seemed to get the message.

“Uh, yeah. No problem, sugar. Listen, I’ll see you tonight. I have some phone calls to make.”

“Ok, sweetheart.” He hung up without giving her a chance to say anything else.

-----

“Edwin! You made it!” squealed Raina.

“Of course I did.” Edwin was obviously confused, curious, and annoyed. Myrah knew they better start explaining things, and fast.

Yamapi was quick though. “Oh, hello. Edwin, was it? Are you a friend of theirs?”

“I should be asking you that same question,” he answered sternly.

“Edwin, calm down. He’s ok. This is someone VERY special. Myrah, you want to tell him?”

Myrah was still pretty tongue-tied, but she knew she really didn’t have a choice. She took a deep breath and said, “Edwin, you know how Raina and I listen to music that you really don’t like?” What was that?! What the heck was she saying? Both Yamapi and Raina gave her a puzzled look. Obviously, they couldn’t figure out where she was going with that question, and, frankly, neither could she.

“Yeeeeeaaah…” Edwin answered slowly.

“And, uh, you know my favorite one of the bunch?”

“Yeeeeeaaah… what does this guy claim to know Yamapi or something? Really, Myrah, you are so gullible. You ought to know by now that you shouldn’t trust-“

“No, Edwin, he-“ She stopped suddenly and looked at Yamapi. He nodded his head giving her permission to tell Edwin his identity. Still, she lowered her voice to almost a whisper, “He IS Yamapi.” He wasn’t buying it, and she knew it.

“Myrah, Raina, grab your stuff right now. We are leaving.”

“Edwin! Wait! He really is-“

“Stop. I knew you were gullible, but I never thought you were THAT gullible. This guy could be some kind of pedophile, but you just blindly believe what he says because he happens to be Asian. I bet he’s not even Japanese!”

“Now hold it right there!” Yamapi couldn’t believe this. He knew not many people in America would know him, but he never expected to come across someone who didn’t BELIEVE it was him! “I am full-blooded Japanese, and-“

“Listen, Edwin,” Myrah interrupted, “I wouldn’t just take his word for it. Believe me it’s him. I’d know his face anywhere. You know I’ve certainly stared at it enough!” Yamapi realized he just revealed himself to the exact people he was trying to avoid, adoring fans. Thankfully, these weren’t the crazy kind… he hoped.

“Ok then, wise guy, let me see some ID then.” Edwin demanded. He was sure the guy wouldn’t have the identification for who he claimed to be. Yamapi stood up then, and began to walk away. “Just what I thought. See, girls? I told you. Now, let’s get out of here.”

Yamapi quickly turned back around. “Don’t leave yet. I haven’t shown you my ID.” Edwin looked stunned. Yamapi walked the rest of the way to his stuff and unzipped a small outside pocket on his luggage, pulled something out, and walked back over. “Here it is.”

And there it was, indeed! Edwin couldn’t deny that the ID looked legitimate.

Yamapi checked his phone. “Oh no! I’m sorry but we really must be going.”

“We?” asked Edwin at the same time the girls exclaimed, “Now?!”

“Yes, I’m sorry, but we have a cab to catch. Don’t worry I’ll drop you off at home. Apparently plans have already been made so I will need you tonight. We are going out to eat dinner and after, knowing my friend-“

“Jin Akanishi, right?” Myrah asked to Yamapi’s surprise.

“Yeah. How did you know?”

“The only people here in America are Jin and Hiroki Uchi. I don’t think you would come all the way here just to visit Uchi. Also, I know Jin is one of your best friends.”

“Uh… right. So, knowing Jin, he’ll want to go to a bar or a club of some sort after. Is that alright?” Yamapi noticed Myrah became uneasy and Edwin had tensed up.

“I, uh, I suppose. I agreed to this already, so-“

“You what? Hold on, time out. What are you talking about? You are going to go off with a complete stranger just because he is an ‘idol’ in Japan? I don’t think so. Nope, I won’t let you.”

“Edwin, it’s fine. Trust me. I will explain it all to you later. These two need to get going. I don’t think Jin likes to be kept waiting.”

“Thank you for your concern, Edwin, but I promise I will take good care of myself. I’ll text you as soon as I get home to let you know I’m safe. If you want details of the ride I’ll tell you them. I swear I won’t keep a thing from you. Ok?” She gave him a hug and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

“You better! I can’t believe I- no, I’m sorry I can’t let you go out tonight wi-“

“I’ll call you when I get home and we can talk about it. Raina will explain more until then.” Yamapi was getting impatient, she could tell, but he was just too polite to say anything.

Edwin threw his arms around Myrah and kissed the top of her head. “I’m gonna be worried sick until I hear from you.” When he let go she patted his arm then turned to Yamapi. “Ok, I’m ready. Let’s go.”

Yamapi went to throw away his half eaten burger and grab his stuff while Myrah got hers. She laughed at her still wrapped food and decided to just to eat it when she got home. No use in wasting good food.

She waved goodbye to her two best friends and followed Yamapi outside.
