Even though it left me a little sad (but then again you tend to rip my heart out with this verse), I really enjoyed this because it was an accurate representation of what some people are like in this scenario and their loved ones having a mental illness, being indignant despite themselves that they know how to take care of their loved ones, and no one else can do it the same way they can, or should even get to. And Dean, especially, would suffer from this, and being told that what he's doing is wrong would made it so much worse. (In the story I'm working on with broken!Sam and his own lover, Dean acts in a similar way, because yeah, he can be grateful that other people are in Sam's life and are taking care of him, but he's still his Sam, and he's been taking care of him for almost thirty years now, dammit.) I feel like this story painted a very realistic picture of Dean in this situation, and you painted it wonderfully.

I...haven't decided how I feel about Castiel leaving yet? Because, unfortunately, even I haven't forgiven him for that. (And I tend to forgive my baby pretty quickly.) But maybe as more stories come out explaining it, I'll buy into it a bit more.

As usual, this verse is near perfect. Thank you for the update <3

Oh my god I adore this comment. This is exactly what I was going for, but like, I could NEVER have articulated it so well. I just had this FEELING in my head about it and you put words to it brilliantly.

I'll try to get to a story about the sequence of events that made Cas leave. It's not an easy one to get around, but the bottom line is that he loves Sam SO MUCH.
