expressionsofme asked:
1. I know you probably don't want to give away too much info about the novel you're writing, but can you at least say what genre it is? And is it Christian or secular? :)
It's set in a world like ours, but isn't ours. I don't know if it has a genre yet, but it's apparent that I read things like HP, The Golden Compass, Narnia, and LOTR. As far as secular or Christian ... I think that it had Christian values to it, but I'm going to call it secular. I'm putting things in there, but I know if/when it's published, it will upset Christians. Which I'm hoping for.
2. What moment(s) at Clarion would you want to relive again and what moments(s), if any, would you want to go back and change?
I want to relive things like getting roped into apartments, sticking cookies on cars and chalking the Richardson's. Honestly, I can't think of anything I would change. There are little things I wish I hadn't done - but they've made me who I am, so I wouldn't go back and change them even if I could.
3. What was the best and worst things about working in retail?
The best and worst thing is the customers. I had customers that I loved that really made my day. And I had customers that I hated, who made me cry, and made me want to quit. Funny ... I still feel that way about the customers.
4. If you could go on any reality show, which one would it be?
The Amazing Race. I don't even have to think about that. I would LOVE to go on there and get to travel and survive and all that.
5. If you could travel anywhere and money was no object, where would you go and what would you do?
I would go on a world tour. There are so many places I want to go. I'd go back to Costa Rica, to Ireland, to England, to Italy, to Greece, to Kenya, to Burundi, to ... well, you get the point. I want to relive Costa Rica w/ some of my Clarion girls, I want to go to Ireland and be Irish. I want to go to England to experience it, the same w/ Italy and Greece. I want to go to Kenya to do missions, and Burundi to work w/ Allow the Children. And everywhere I just want to take in the culture.
sweetbeth02 asked:
1. If you could have gone to any school, without worrying about cost or anything, where would you have gone?
Honestly, I don't know. For undergrad, Clarion is the only place that I applied to. For grad school ... looking back, anywhere but Chatham. With the exception of Jeff and Costa Rica I didn't like Chatham. I think if I could, I would love to go to a school that had a PhD program in the study of modern poetry, but alas, I can't seem to find such a program.
2. If you could be on any reality or game show...which one would you be on?
Since I already answered the reality part of the question, I'll go with the game show here - I would love to go on who's smarter than a 5th grader. I'm not smarter that a 5th grader most weeks that I watch the show, but I would love to go on it.
3. (love the if's yet) If you could meet any author, dead or alive, who would you want to meet?
Living - Jo Rowling. Dead - Rich Mullins and C.S. Lewis
4. (stealing it from other people) Favorite Clarion memories?
Since I did this one already I'll change it a little - my fav Clarion memory w/ you was the day we went and chalked at the Richardson's and took a bunch of silly pictures w/ Natalie and Sara while they weren't home. Or ... any other memory involving chalk!! (hehe)
5. Most missed thing about Clarion?
Being close to people. I really miss walking down the hall to see friends and meeting up in the cafeteria, and just always having everyone be in everyone else's business. Just the little things like movies in people's rooms or walking down to Sheetz or the Sleven. There were always people willing to do things and people always around - I miss that!
