Synopsis: A short little thing on Kairi when she was younger.
Words: 311
When she was a little girl she was curious about knights in shining armor and grand castles and princesses. She believed she would be a princess and a brave knight would slay the dragon and would marry her and live happily ever after.
She believed a lot of fairy tales and a lot of nightmares too, even when she was gently scolded for believing in such things. She would 'ooo' and 'aah' every time her grandmother would tell her a precious tale when she went to bed at night or in the library. She loved all her fairy tales except the last.
The last she would receive from her beloved grandmother. It was a tale of people who were greedy and selfish and how in return the thing the people wanted most disappeared and became the source of nightmares. She liked the part though about the light still surviving within her and others though, and laughed happily and hugged her grandmother tight.
Her grandmother would always ask at the end of her stories on what she would say to the knight or the hero and for this one. In all her stories she would always say 'I love you' or 'Thank you.' But in the end of this story she said 'I Believe in You' and opened her arms wide and smiled brightly.
Her grandmother laughed lightly to herself and commented on what a good little princess she was. Kairi took it as nothing more than a compliment and beamed.
The next day she woke up with water pooling around her and the sun bearing down. She would be groggy and be confused and a little boy would look down at her and ask 'Who are you? Where did you come from?' And she would look up at him and feel like the princess seeing her prince for the first time.

When we were little you never left my side. At that time we believed in monsters in the closet and the boogie man inside. When we were younger we played warriors fighting to death for a girl, even if we had no idea what she looked like. When we were little we met the others and a new addition. She took you away from me...I felt that you had left me. And thus, when we were little I began to leave your side. I no longer believed in the monsters in the closet or the boogie man inside. I began to believe...that I wanted to leave.
