[So, the fight against the Postman ended as these fights always do.

Still, long after it was over. Long after the pain has faded from memory. The Captain was still no where to be found! About a week later The Captain finally reappears. First with a phone call.]

[Ken's just jogging about around town when he sees a familiar face.]

Hey! Captain! [He's going to...ugh, wave at you.]

[Frowns, not in a good mood to be meeting anyone really.

But it's Ken so he does wave back.]

[When is the Captain ever in a good mood? But still, Ken picks up on the reluctance.]

Hey, you ok man?

No.

[For one... he looks sober. That can't be good.]

[weiss_tank]

[Whoa...will wonders never cease?]

What happened? [He didn't hear the phone call]

I fought the Postman and lost.

[That's not it though, this guy loses all the time.]

I wasn't the only one...

[He's with you so far, Ken figured that the postman would probably be in the same category as Grady. Then the Captain speaks his next set of words.]

Shit, you guys got torn apart, didn't you.

Yeah, wouldn't be the first time...

[Let's out a frustrated breath.]

I'm a pretty terrible super hero. I can't believe I let that ☠☠☠☠ happen.

You're not a terrible super hero, the people here are just stupidly powerful and we haven't found their weak points yet.

[Ken is entirely sympathetic]

No... I can deal with them being powerful. It's annoying but it's not like I haven't met people I can't beat before.

[If this conversation was someone else, The Captain would have just cursed and ditched it. Since it's Ken, he's venting.]

I got a kid killed too... pretty badly. I don't think she's going to take it well.

[He didn't take it well. He took it with a drinking binge. The fact he still feels guilty after that is what's getting him.]

[Ken winced at that.]

Start from the beginning Captain. What happened? [This is sounding worse and worse by the minute.]

[Now he wishes he wasn't sober.]

A kid, who is a super hero back in her world, kept bugging me so I let her come along and included her when I decided to attack the Postman.

I told her if the Postman didn't go down in the first hit, or if Grady appeared, to get out. She can teleport so I figured she'd have a chance.

[Well, that explains a few things.]

I take it she couldn't teleport fast enough to get away...

Not even, I don't think she knew who the ☠☠☠☠ Grady even was. I thought she did...

The plan kinda worked even... the Postman went down hard. I crushed and mangled him pretty good.

Well that's something at least...I'm sure she'll be ok Captain. [He hoped for her sake at any rate. You just couldn't tell.]

That fat porker is a force to be dealt with, that's for sure.

I don't know, dying's not easy. I crushed the Postman, Grady showed up and she just ☠☠☠☠ waved at him until he froze us. Then the Postman got up looking like a broken corpse.

He fixed himself and made her take all the damage. I hit the ☠☠☠☠ with a car and buried him in rubble and twisted metal. She had to feel all of that before she died...
