My favorite kickass local Pagan band is back! So it looks like we're going to be putting on a benefit show/charity auction shindig to raise money for Stone City. Probably first weekend of September, but we're confirming that. It will be in Oakland at EMB Studios. The thought is to have a relatively low cover charge so lots of people are encouraged to come, and get donated ( Read more... )

We heard recently about a large conservation easement that was made by the Nature Conservancy covering a chunk of the Mount Hamilton Range out here. Here is an article about it.

Well, the plans we had for the weekend fell through so we ended up with that extremely rare animal, a weekend free at home. So we decided to go downtown and behave like people who have free time and go downtown and do things for fun. First news reports with info on the possible cause of the Lick Fire. News report says it's believed the fire was started on private land owned by a hunting club, by a remote, small lake near the edge of Henry Coe state park.
