Stone City Samhain Festival
October 27-28
SCHEDULE:
Workshop: Drumming for Ritual - Saturday October 27, 1:00 pm
This workshop will focus on the basics of drumming, such as listening, finding the beat, sinking into a groove, and playing off of one another. We will work with simple rhythms and exercises, and then
explore how rhythm can be used to move energy both personally and in ritual. We will explore concepts such as drumming as awareness practice, focusing and directing Will, grounding, circle casting, and invocation, all through rhythm.
Sharon Knight has been a Pagan musician for 20 years, specializing in Celtic and Middle Eastern musical styles. She has four albums to her credit and is working on a fifth. She is a Feri initiate and is
co-owner of El Mundo Bueno Studios, a recording facility in Oakland, CA.
Stone City Samhain Ritual - Saturday October 27, 5:30 pm.
Dharma Samhain: A ritual of honor and service to the Dead. We will invite Hekate, Queen of the Night, and Hermes, the Messenger and Guide of Souls, to join us in honoring the Mighty and Beloved Dead. We will offer gifts of light, warmth, and remembrance to the spirits of the Dead, and assist spirits in crossing over to the Otherworld through an active trance chant meditation on entering the Void. Ritual collaboration with Sharon Knight, Winter, Morpheus Anima, Shannon Moore, and Tina Beachy.
Closing Ritual - Sunday October 28, 11:00 am.
A simple ritual of thanks to the Gods and the spirits of the Dead; closing the Western Gate.
Please note: Early arrival Friday evening is by arrangement only. A private group will be using the Henge for their Samhain ritual Friday evening the 26th, and we need to respect their privacy. The public festival opens Saturday morning the 27th. If you need to arrive Friday night because of travel considerations, please contact us for arrangements.

The Guest House has one queen-sized bed and floor space for several more to sleep inoors, on a first-come first-served basis. Please bring your own blankets or sleeping bags. Hot showers, bathtub, composting toilet, and kitchen facilities are available. Please note the guest kitchen is not fully stocked with all utensils and equipment - there are some cooking pots and a supply of paper plates, cups etc, but if you need any special implements for cooking you plan to do, you need to bring them. Donations of kitchen utensils are welcomed, we're always working to improve the facilities!
Two private guest cabins are available. They are converted campers with bed space for 3-4 each. There is an additional cost for reserving one of these cabins - see below under cost info. Please check with us in advance to make sure a cabin is available, since there are only two.
Space in the residents' house is reserved for people volunteering to help with festival work. We have a few specific help tasks you can take on: Registering and greeting new arrivals; setup, cleanup, and periodic checking of guest facilities. You must arrange with us in advance if you wish to help out as staff and have bed space reserved in the residents’ house.
COST
Festival costs here are per person; kids and teenagers are free and welcomed.
$25/one night or $35/two nights - until October 12
$35/one night or $45/two nights - October 13 and after
This registration cost covers attendance at all open festival events, camping space, use of the guest house and guest kitchen, showers etc, even if you are camping in your tent.
If you want to reserve one of the two private camper-cabins, the additional cost is $10 per night - note this is per cabin, NOT per person, so if you are sharing a cabin with others this comes out to almost nothing!
