Chaison: Sex on Fire
The party was pretty nice. The music was good, people were amiable and who ever made the homemade nachos got my props unquestionably! After being ditched by Josh for Mic, I headed toward the front door to see what Phoenix was up to, barely missing one of her friends as he walked passed me; scowl all over his face. Soon after, I heard arguing outside and stayed where I was, just close enough to see what was going on. Some lanky black guy trying his best to look like a tough thug was talking all close to Phoenix. But it was obvious she didn't want him anywhere near her, guessing by her stance. That irritated me and relieved me at the same time; at least I knew I wasn't the only man she didn't want in her life.
However, I had to resist the urge to go out and punch a few of the man's teeth out, seeing him pulling her unwanted to him with his hand on her exposed back. Obviously they had some kind of past. A pretty bad past at that, because next thing I knew, they were yelling at each other and the man left in a black Cadillac. I didn't know what was going on, but I did know that most likely, I wasn't the one she wanted to see next so I retreated from the front door just in time.
Phoenix walked in looking calm and collected on the outside, though you could tell in her eyes that she was still upset. Something inside me wanted to watch out for her, especially after I saw her grab a Bud Light and down it like it was water. I watched over her during the party, seeing her get extremely drunk. She drank beers, took shots and sipped on mixed drinks. Her smile grew wider and wider from each drink. She was definitely in bliss.
I on the other hand, worried and worried. Everybody thought she was partying, but I knew the truth. Suddenly in a turn of events, a song called "Sex on Fire" came blasting from the DJ table. "Oh! Whoo! I love this song!" Phoenix exclaimed, jumping...well more like climbing onto her dining room table. I came closer, not knowing if I had to rush in and catch her from falling. "Come on, Mic! Come and dance with me!" Phoenix called out. Mic didn't take long in getting up on the table , moving with her and shaking her head to the beat.
"Wow..." I heard Josh say beside me.
"What?"
"I've never seen Phoenix look so happy before." He said calmly. I looked back at her and had to agree. The Phoenix we were used to was cold and not very talkative.
But this Phoenix...
Now surrounded by all four of her closet friends, Phoenix smiled and laughed as she danced. Her smile truly lit up the dining room and her laughter was genuine. This was the Phoenix I wanted to get to know more of. I wanted to make her smile like that. But only time would tell if I would get the chance to do it.
The song finished and after all of her friends went back to doing whatever they were doing, I noticed that Phoenix was still on the table. The smooth sultry music of Jimi Hendrix's "Foxey Lady" filled the house giving it a whole new atmosphere. Couples began coming together, moving against each other to the beat.
The beat wasn't lost on Phoenix either, who wasn't too sober. She to my surprise started dancing just as sultry to the music. Some of the guys at the party, came closer to the table to be audience to this show of oblivious seduction Try as I might, I couldn't seem to take my eyes off her treasure of a body. Her curves twisted and turned mercilessly, the dining room light lit just on the right spot, making her hair shimmer all fine and I could have sworn her hand trailed down to the bottom tie of her white halter top twice. As much as I shamelessly wanted this show to continue, I hoped inside that she wouldn't remove any garment on her body, because then all would go crazy and I would have no choice but to save Olive Oyl.
Those guys really didn't want to see me as Popeye.
Phoenix suddenly got on her hands and knees, crawling slow along the cherry wood of her dining room table. She looked around the perimeter of her house before she found me and stared. I was frozen to the bone by the tameless gleam of jade in her eyes and instantly felt my jeans tighten. She was making me super hot...and she didn't even know it!
Jimi graciously stopped singing and Phoenix blinked as if she were in a daze; her clothing still intact. Everybody cheered for her and went about their business. I sighed in relief and took a swallow of my beer, walking towards Josh and Mic, who looked just awed by her performance.
"Wow, and she was worried about me and the alcohol." Mic said, shaking her head. I chuckled and Josh scoffed. "So, she really is a party animal."
I didn't want to tell them what I saw earlier; it was Mic's birthday after all. I wasn't going to be the one to ruin it. I watched Mic go up her dazed and drunken best friend.
"Hey, party girl. Going easy on the booze?"
Phoenix smiled at Mic and nodded. Mic giggled saying, "I don't believe that for a second. How are you feeling? You need some water, babe?"
Phoenix looked around and then suddenly looked quite green. "I feel like..." She groaned out." "I feel like I need to throw up." She got down quick off the table saying, "Excuse me!" and ran quickly to the bathroom. My heart ached for her and for some reason, I wanted to be in there keeping her hair out of her face.
Mic followed her with an gaze of pity. "Aww, poor Fire. She must've had a lot to drink." I nodded and gave her the list of alcohol. Mic blinked in surprise. "I knew she was acting strangely after Curtis came by."
I was surprised that she knew. "How did you know?"
Mic looked at me. "Caesar told me. He was out there with her when it happened. Pissed me off too. The nerve of him coming down here. He must have tried to get her back together with him again."
"Again? So he was an ex."
"Yeah. Mic scowled. "Three years ago. He was the one who broke her heart. Remember, I told you?"
This time I scowled. So that asshole was the reason I was working so hard? I should have knocked his teeth out on principal!
Mic took notice of my anger. "That bastard was no good for her. I'm glad she left him." I nodded, quite grateful myself.
After about ten to fifteen minutes later, we realized she was still in the bathroom. "Is she ok?" I asked. Mic looked at the door just as Josh pulled on her hand to dance. " Come on, Michaela. Dance with me some more."
Mic smiled. "No, I have to check on Phoenix." She kisses his cheek. "But...I promise I'll be back.
Josh winked at her. "You better be."
Mic walked toward the bathroom and I followed her, really wanting to know if she was okay. Mic opened the door saying softly, "Are you okay, girl?" Then there as a gasp and I heard Mic cry out, " Fire! Phoenix! Phoenix, wake up! Chaison! Joshawa! Help me!" I ran up there followed by Josh and walked into the bathroom. Phoenix was slumped over the toilet lid, her hair covering her face. Vomit was on the floor and on her shirt. I cursed myself for letting her get this far and Mic asked, "Is she ok?" Josh covered his nose slightly, saying, "Shit, she probably just passed out, baby."
Without another word, I moved past Mic and Josh, reaching down and easily lifting up the buzzed woman into my arms. She moaned as her head fell back onto my shoulder. I looked at her then at Mic saying almost painfully, "Where can I take her?" Mic opened the door saying, "Here, follow me up to my room. She should be ok there." The three of us pushed through the partying crowd with the unconscious woman and headed upstairs. Mic opened the door saying, "Come in here." I brought Phoenix into the bedroom, laying her down on a pillow on top of Mic's bed. She moaned again. Mic winced. "Maybe I should stay here with her..." She said grabbing her friend's hand. I shook my head, putting a hand on her shoulder. "No. You go on back to the party. I'll watch her." Josh nodded agreeing, "You got people waiting for you downstairs. Come on, honey."
Mic at first looked doubtful, but then she asked. "Ok, I'll go back. What do you need, Chaise?" I thought then answered, "A washcloth would be nice. I want to clean her face off." Mic rushed off then came back with a red washcloth saying, "Let me at least change her." I nodded, moving to the side and turning around so that Mic could redress Phoenix into a t-shirt. Afterwards she said, "I better go. Clean the bathroom and check on the guests."
After I told her we were fine here, she departed, followed by Josh. After the door shut, I came up to Phoenix and used the wet washcloth to wipe the dried vomit off of her face and mouth. She frowned, moaning out, "Mom..." I watched her squirm a bit then after she calmed down, I covered her up with Mic's blanket and I had a seat near the window, watching over her. I really didn't know why I was here. I only knew one thing:
Olive Oyl was in trouble and I was the one to save her.
