Jacquie and Farzeen as of right now (in their time zones) are both 21. I'm the next girl. I'm not ready to grow up.

I was in Big Bear this weekend for my grandpa's 75th birthday. It was really good to see Melissa and all my other cousins. It's crazy how grown up some of them are. Tamara starts high school next year, and she's taller than me. And my gosh she could easily pass for 18. I'm really trying to come up with the money to go down for Thanksgiving, but it's so expensive and I really can't justify spending $400 on a long weekend when I should be saving it for next term. I mean, that's 2 months rent!

My mom's in D.C. for some grant review/study session thing so I'm keeping an eye on my little brother. It's kind of weird sleeping in my old bedroom now that it's completely devoid of my things. It's pretty eerie actually, but it's comforting at the same time. They say you can never go home, and it's true. As much as everything else is exactly as I left it 2 years ago, it's not my home anymore. I don't really know where my home is to be perfectly honest. My apartment doesn't really feel like home (probably because I'm never there anymore), my dad moved again, so now this house is even more foreign, and my mom's feels like a distant memory. Hopefully Eugene will be more comforting.
