Either way, sorry yer feelers were hurt. I'm sure it wasn't meant literally or seriously...and if it was well uh, well given the circumstances let's just not go there.
But if the comment was meant to wound, allow the Master of the Obvious to do his job:
I remember when I was a wee boy...I'd say I was about - yea high, possibly even _ hea high - okay I was in middle school so factoring in growth spurts etc. just gets way too complicated...anyway, I remember when I was a young laddy, my father gave me some really good advice.
He said (and believe me this isn't paraphrased, I have blunt parents):
"Jake, no matter whatcha do, there are always gonna be assholes in the world. It doesn't matter how nice or friendly you are; it doesn't matter how helpful or how good you are to people. All of your life there will be assholes who want to get atchu, pick and pry atchu for no other reason than the fact that they simply don't like you and want to see you fall flat on your face. At which point they will not hesitate one second to kick dirt in it. Nuttin you can do about it."
He told me this because Levi, as you may remember, pretty much picked on me and tried to make life difficult for me for quite a while.
Not exactly the most eloquent words I've ever heard, but the message was a good'n.
The moral of the story is, you can't let it get you down everytime some idiot with a big mouth, no conscience, or unpleasant disposition says or does something to offend you. The message is obvious of course, and it's not exactly a revolutionary philosophy. But sometimes these things have to be restated (if for nothing more than a strange anecdote to occupy your time =D).
Anyway, figured I'd share a little advice. Though, I do warn you, taking advice from ANYONE in my family is pretty much like playing Russian Roulette. Afterall, look how I turned out ;)
