HOLY POO!

So my uncle's grandmother died this week (no relation to me, since he's my uncle as in he is married to my mom's sister) and I knew that was a big family but... dude...

In the obituary, I don't remember how many children and grandchildren it listed, but she had 26 GREAT grand children and 5 GREAT-GREAT grand children!

HOLY SHIT STICKS!

She was a year YOUNGER than my grandmother was when she died this summer and Nana had 2 kids, and 5 grand kids, the youngest was 7 at the time.

This woman was 81!

I mean... I know HOW it happened, pretty much most of her children married in their early 20's and had kids, then her grandchildren included a bunch of teen parents, and then her great grand children are a lot of teen parents, but really....

THAT IS INSANE! My grandmother MIGHT have had great grand children if me or my cousin had gotten married/had kids as teens, since we're 20 and 18... but seriously!

Ignoring the explanation, HOW does one end up being 81 and having GREAT- GREAT grand children?!? I mean... really, what are the chances?

Idk, it always amazed me how young my classmates grandparents were. There were tons of kids in high school that had grandmothers in their 50s and my grandparents were in their late 70s, lol. My grandmother had kids in her mid-30s, my parents got MARRIED in their teens but didn't have me until mid-twenties then more kids in mid-30s, and my aunt didn't get MARRIED until she was about 30, had a kid about a year after she got married, and then neither me or my cousin got married in our teens, neither of us have PLANS to get married and have kids anytime soon (or, you know, EVER for me) so yeah... no great grand children happened.

So like... it makes SENSE, most people seem to have kids in their early to mid 20s, but really it has always been odd to me.

HELL! My cousin? He is 18 and his parents are 46 and 56! He's got friends with grandparents those ages!
