Tell me something...
I live in Georgia. Georgia is called 'The Peach State'. We have massive Peach Orchards all above the fall line and plenty of local growers nearby. Georgia produces, in my opinion, the best peaches ever...
Tell me then why all the peaches at the grocery store are California peaches!!!
... Now, I'm not saying California peach growers SUCK, it's just the weather surely, but California peaches aren't that good. They're hard and not very juicy.
If you don't know much about peaches or don't eat them, basically a peach is only a quality peach if it's so soft that you barely have to bite down to pierce the flesh with your teeth and, as soon as the skin is punctured, juice gushes out and you get mouthful of it (and usually it pours down your chin, but that's just a side effect of deliciousness) before you've even REALLY bitten into it.
(I made a vampire analogy with that on AIM talking to my friend, but that just made me sound like a creeper)
Seriously ya'll... I haven't had a GOOD peach in TWO YEARS! I'm DYING for one! I've sent my dad on a quest to find a roadside stand while he's going around working to find some GEORGIA peaches. So far all we've seen is watermelons loaded in pick-ups but there's a produce stand up the road from the Verizon place that should have peaches.
